Talking to the coach: what it knows and how to ask

Updated September 6, 2026

The coach chat answers questions about your own record. It is not a market oracle and it is not a general assistant, and knowing exactly what sits in front of it is the difference between a useful answer and a wasted run.

What it reads

Everything it reads is yours, and all of it is read fresh on each question.

  • Your closed trades in the scope you are viewing, up to the hundred most recent, grouped into decisions rather than fills.
  • Your profile: what to call you, your account phase and size.
  • Your five most recent journal entries, with what you wrote and how you assessed the trade.
  • Your active agents and the rule focus you set up for the rule detector, as the guardrails currently on you.
  • Your five most recent alerts.
  • Your accounts, only far enough to know which ones are in scope.

What it does not read

No other trader's data, ever. No broker credentials or API keys. No live prices, no charts, no market feed. It cannot see a trade you have not imported, and it cannot see the future.

It also cannot act. It has no ability to place, change or cancel an order, and no ability to change your rules or your account.

The window it answers from

The coach answers from the scope you are in. Arrive from a page with a date range, a phase or an account selected and it answers from exactly that, and states the window it used at the top of the reply. Arrive at the coach page directly, with nothing selected, and it reads your most recent hundred decisions across all time.

If your window holds no closed trades, it says so and tells you to widen the range rather than reaching outside the window for a number.

It will not make a number up

This is the part worth trusting. The coach is instructed never to cite a statistic that is not in front of it. With no imported history it will not estimate a win rate, an edge score or anything else; it will tell you to import a CSV or connect a broker so there is something real to grade. With history but an empty window, it says the window is empty rather than quietly answering from a different one.

An answer of "I cannot see that" is the system working.

What it costs

One reply is one AI run against your plan's daily and monthly allowance. There is also a short-term ceiling of twenty messages a minute, which is there to stop a runaway loop rather than to ration your thinking.

New conversations need an active plan. Conversations you already have stay readable whatever happens to the plan.

Questions that work

Ask about your own record, and be specific about the slice.

  • What happens to my win rate after a loss.
  • Which instrument am I actually losing money on this month.
  • Was the setup there before I entered on my worst trade last week.
  • Which of my rules do I break most, and on which day of the week.
  • Read my last session back to me and tell me what I would say to someone else about it.

Questions that do not

Anything requiring information it does not hold. Where is price going. Should I take this trade right now. What is the news doing. Those are not refusals of policy so much as facts about what is in the context: it has your history, not the market.

Conversation history

Your conversations are saved to your account and are private to you. The whole thread is sent back with each new message, so the coach genuinely follows the conversation rather than answering each question cold, up to a hundred messages in one thread.

Starting a new chat in the app begins a fresh thread; it does not delete the old one. If you want your coach conversations gone, deleting your account removes them along with the rest of your data.

Getting more out of it

Write your journal notes. The coach reads your five most recent, and a note that says what you were thinking turns "your win rate drops after a loss" into an explanation of why. The numbers are always there; the reasons only are if you wrote them down.

Risk Disclosure

Futures and forex trading contains substantial risk and is not for every investor. An investor could potentially lose all or more than the initial investment. Risk capital is money that can be lost without jeopardizing one's financial security or lifestyle. Only risk capital should be used for trading and only those with sufficient risk capital should consider trading. Past performance is not necessarily indicative of future results.

Hypothetical Performance Disclosure

Hypothetical performance results have many inherent limitations, some of which are described below. No representation is being made that any account will or is likely to achieve profits or losses similar to those shown; in fact, there are frequently sharp differences between hypothetical performance results and the actual results subsequently achieved by any particular trading program. One of the limitations of hypothetical performance results is that they are generally prepared with the benefit of hindsight. In addition, hypothetical trading does not involve financial risk, and no hypothetical trading record can completely account for the impact of financial risk of actual trading. For example, the ability to withstand losses or to adhere to a particular trading program in spite of trading losses are material points which can also adversely affect actual trading results. There are numerous other factors related to the markets in general or to the implementation of any specific trading program which cannot be fully accounted for in the preparation of hypothetical performance results and all of which can adversely affect trading results.
