Exporting your data: formats, limits and how long it takes
Updated September 6, 2026
The article on your data covers what an export contains and how deletion works. This one covers the mechanics: the two formats, the limits, and what each error message means.
Two downloads
Open Settings, then Your Data.
Download everything, as JSON. One file with what you gave Propfy and what Propfy worked out from it, generated on demand from the live database. Some things are deliberately left out, such as stored API secrets and other people's data, and the file lists each omission with a plain reason rather than pretending nothing is missing.
Download trades only, as CSV. The ledger, one row per fill, for a spreadsheet.
Both download straight to the device you are on. Propfy does not email them, and there is no link to wait for.
How long it takes
Seconds for most accounts, longer for large ones, and the button says so while it works. The file streams as it is built rather than being assembled first, which is what keeps a large account from failing where a small one succeeds.
The file carries a check at the end, and your browser refuses to save a download it cannot verify. So a failed export leaves you with no file rather than a half file you cannot tell from a whole one. Nothing on your account changes either way, and you can simply try again.
The limits
Three downloads an hour. Past that the button tells you that you have downloaded a few times in the last hour and to try later. The counter clears on its own.
An account holding more than 250,000 rows is refused in one go, with a message asking you to email support so we can get the file to you by hand. Nothing is lost and nothing is capped in your account; it is the single-file download that has the ceiling.
The errors, in plain terms
"You have downloaded your data a few times in the last hour." The hourly limit. Wait and try again.
"Your account is too large to download in one go." The row ceiling. Email support and a person will handle it.
"The download did not finish, so we did not save a file." The stream stopped partway. Nothing changed. Try again.
"We could not build your file." Something failed before a byte was written. Nothing changed. Try again, or email support.
What it can and cannot read
The export can only ever read the account you are signed in as. There is nothing in the request to point it anywhere else. While you are viewing another trader's account as staff, neither downloading nor deleting is available.
If something in your export looks wrong or incomplete, open a ticket and we will check it by hand.
