Import an FTMO MT4 or MT5 statement

Updated August 20, 2026

The file you need is your MT4 or MT5 account statement, converted to a comma-separated CSV. Neither platform exports CSV directly, so one spreadsheet step is unavoidable.

Export from MT5

  • Step 1. Open the MT5 terminal and log in to your FTMO account.
  • Step 2. Open View, then Toolbox (Ctrl+T), and click the History tab.
  • Step 3. Right-click inside History and set the period: All History, or a custom period covering everything you want.
  • Step 4. Right-click again, hover Report, and choose Open XML (MS Office Excel). Save the .xlsx. Do not choose the HTML option.
  • Step 5. Convert it to CSV. Google Sheets is the safe route: File, Import, upload the .xlsx, untick "Convert text to numbers, dates, and formulas", then File, Download, Comma Separated Values (.csv). In Excel: File, Save As, CSV (Comma delimited).

Export from MT4

  • Step 1. Open the Terminal panel (Ctrl+T) and click the Account History tab.
  • Step 2. Right-click inside it and pick the period, All History or Custom Period.
  • Step 3. Right-click again and choose Save as Report. MT4 writes an .htm file, which cannot be uploaded as it is.
  • Step 4. Open that .htm in Excel, or import it into Google Sheets, then save or download it as CSV.

Import into Propfy

  • Step 1. Open the Import page in Propfy and pick the FTMO (MT4 / MT5 statement) card.
  • Step 2. Upload the converted .csv. Maximum 4MB and 10,000 rows.
  • Step 3. Read the preview, then click Import trades. Propfy reads the closed-trade table and stops at the next section, so the Orders and Deals tables below are never imported twice.

Troubleshooting

  • The upload box refuses the file: you gave it the .htm or .xlsx the platform produced. Only .csv and .txt are accepted, so convert first.
  • Save as comma-separated, not semicolon-separated. European spreadsheet defaults write semicolons, which Propfy reads as one column, so the statement is not recognised at all.
  • After converting, timestamps must still read like 2026.08.03 15:32:10. A converter that rewrites them to a local format such as 8/3/2026 15:32 can shift or lose the time, which unticking the convert option in Google Sheets prevents. They are read in FTMO server time, the same clock the daily-loss day is counted on, so do not correct them to your own timezone.
  • Keep the preamble rows above the table. The Account: line attributes rows to the right login when you trade several accounts; without it, the account picked in the import panel is used.
  • Entry price and time are blank: you exported the Deals table, where each row is half a trade. Export Positions when both are offered.
  • No valid trades found: the table must carry Swap, Profit, Type and a Symbol or Item column. The client-area trading journal export does not match that shape, so use the MT4 or MT5 statement. cTrader, DXtrade and TradingView exports are not recognised.

Columns Propfy reads

MT5 Positions: Time, Position, Symbol, Type, Volume, Price, S/L, T/P, Time, Price, Commission, Swap, Profit. MT4 Closed Transactions: Ticket, Open Time, Type, Size, Item, Price, S/L, T/P, Close Time, Price, Commission, Taxes, Swap, Profit. Open and close columns share names and both are kept by position. Commission plus Taxes or Fee become the fee; Swap is left out. Balance operations and pending orders are ignored, not counted as errors.

Risk Disclosure

Futures and forex trading contains substantial risk and is not for every investor. An investor could potentially lose all or more than the initial investment. Risk capital is money that can be lost without jeopardizing one's financial security or lifestyle. Only risk capital should be used for trading and only those with sufficient risk capital should consider trading. Past performance is not necessarily indicative of future results.

Hypothetical Performance Disclosure

Hypothetical performance results have many inherent limitations, some of which are described below. No representation is being made that any account will or is likely to achieve profits or losses similar to those shown; in fact, there are frequently sharp differences between hypothetical performance results and the actual results subsequently achieved by any particular trading program. One of the limitations of hypothetical performance results is that they are generally prepared with the benefit of hindsight. In addition, hypothetical trading does not involve financial risk, and no hypothetical trading record can completely account for the impact of financial risk of actual trading. For example, the ability to withstand losses or to adhere to a particular trading program in spite of trading losses are material points which can also adversely affect actual trading results. There are numerous other factors related to the markets in general or to the implementation of any specific trading program which cannot be fully accounted for in the preparation of hypothetical performance results and all of which can adversely affect trading results.
